I haven't posted in a while, because my kid has grown into a teen. It is quite diffent being a parent of a teen than a kid.
I will bring my 14 year old boy. Who else is bringing teens?
This year it looks like none of my son's friends can go with us. Are there other teens going from the SF area who are interested in meeting before BM? Let me know.

Re: teens at BM?
Thu, April 12, 2007 - 1:19 PMI'll have my 14 year old son and my 11 year old son along. They wouldn't miss it. Last year there was a group of about 6 teens who hung out in 'teen ville' and then another younger group of tweens.
I have to admit to a bit more anxiety as Gabe (the 14 year old) comes into his sexuality....

Re: teens at BM?
Thu, April 12, 2007 - 5:42 PMJohn, 14, didn't go last year. This time he will definitely experience burning man differently. Girls are no longer yucky but have become yummy. I have no anxiety over it though. The same burningman guidelines apply to sexual behavior as last time: don't be sexual with anyone much younger or older than you. My only burningman specific worry is that some 20 year old thinks it might be fun to toy with John. That can of course work out well, but I worry about him somehow getting hurt in the experience.
Is teen-ville within kidsville? -

Re: teens at BM?
Thu, April 12, 2007 - 10:01 PMYes, 'teen ville' was part of kidsville. We had a small dome and lots of spray paint and let them tag the dome. I had cookies and sodas and shade for the teens to hang out in. There was a small group who came around everyday, disappeared into RVs to play video games anytime they were welcome, and who found interesting spots on the playa to hang out. They were more interested in each other company than adult company. We'll bring the dome, cookies and soda back this year. I might make a new blank cover to be tagged again. My boys like camping in kidsville and so do I.
Last year there was a listing in the calendar for teens to meet at center camp at some designated hour each day, but I don't think that ever really happened. I don't know who created the listing.

Sat, April 21, 2007 - 10:40 PMMine is not quite a teen but he definately acts it. He's 11, he'll be almost 12 then. We are bringing a friend to hang with him. It's going to be fun! Just getting them prepared to for the nudity and sex.
